Hi,

I m back with the same motor. I was tubing with the kids, the motor was running fine, we were running about 32 mph and the motor started to bog then died. I figured it was bad gas. Had it towed back, got a separate tank with fresh gas and oil, tried to start it and it cranks over then backfires. Im thinking its a timing issue but I don't know. Any ideas?

Backfires normally fuel restriction.
You may need to go through the carbs. Pull out your spark plugs and have a look at them, any different colouring will indicate which carb/s to concentrate on.
See if priming your fuel bulb stops it backfiring if it doesnt check spark and timing, if you cant do that then start cleaning those carbs thoroughly.
Have a peak at the reeds when you have them off too

Basics first. Check your compression and then check your spark with an open air gap spark tester set at 7/16" gap. Then go from there. And don't worry about the reeds quite yet.
