1990 evinrude 60hp runs all the way to wot then cuts out then dies

working on a 90 60hp rude for a friend of mine,,,,when fired up it kinda sounds like a miss to me then when we open it almost wot it sounds like its bouncing off a rev limiter and wont take off like it used to,,,then when we back the throttle off it just dies like we turned the key off,,,,,we have pulled out the 18gal fuel tank(cleaned)all fresh gas,filters new,plugs new,drained all fuel bowls and flushed new through them.We fired it up and the same thing,,kinda seems worse when warmed up,,,so today i tore all 3 carbs off and cleaned real good(not my first carb cleaning)they are clean and it does it again when fired,,,im getting to it being electrical instead of fuel,,i have a very blue spark from each plug but that dont mean its doing it when the throttle and timing are advanced.Anyone have a clue cause it ran flawless last season till the last 3 times out on the lake thanks alot

Have you tried pumping the primer bulb when it is acting up to eliminate the fuel pump?
Use a timing light to check and see if you are dropping cylinders while under load.

If you're checking your spark with just the plugs it means nothing. Get an open air gap spark tester and set it to 7/16 " and see what you get.

primer bulb is hard as should be all the time,,,im pretty smart on these 2 strokes besides when it comes to electrical,,im gonna have to get the inline spark testers and fire it up at dark and see if one of the cylinders are dropping spark when the throttle and timimg is advanced,,,how common are these for sheering the flywheel key(possible but doubt it)also when running i even checked and put my hand over each carb to see if they are sucking in cause if they are blowing out then that will tell u that u have a possible broke reed,my '69 55hp rude acted like this also but not shut off instead just rev limiting at wot,,found it to be a bad wire...these wires are all good as to i can see..maybe a powerpack but those are $161 and u know u cant return electrical parts so i dont wanna just guess,,i also wanna check the compression,,,any clue what that should be,,I know 120lbs -150Lbs i believe thanks alot for all ur help

sheared key would lead to timing being off , signs would be backfires... I would try Daviet's suggestion and look at fuel pump and def check for signs of air leaks along the fuel lines

all new fuel lines as well,,as for fuel pumps go they are like a coil,,,when they go out they usually go all the way out and not intermit,,plugs also are wet when it dies and i check..anyway off checking the power pack or cdi

are the throttle plates horizontal at wot not over or under extended? has a full lync and sync been done according to manual ??

well it happened while on the water,,doubt they just slipped outta wack,,i say its electrical and nothing to do with fuel,,i wont know though till he buys some inline spark testers
