1990 Chaparral 1900 S/X Gas Cap

Does anyone know where I can buy a black plastic replacement gas cap for this boat or happens to have an old one with a good cap on it that they are willing to sell? The cap is a Black Attwood plastic non-vented cap that has a plastic clasp/clip on it.

I have seen Atwood products at Wal Mart, and certainly in Overton's and West marine's catalogues.

I had the same cap on my boat and the hinge part broke. I ended up getting a Perko stainless fill but I just found a pretty close match, however it does have a vent on it.

Contact Joe @Cecilmarine.com. He's a wizard at Chaparral Parts. Careful byte1, I was told you don't replace a plastic gas cap with a stainless one unless you add a ground wire to the filler neck. My understanding is that failure to do so could lead to a static electricity spark, with deadly results.

Yes, I failed to mention that. I did attach a grounding wire from the filler neck to the fuel tank.
