1990 Carver Montego missing lock

I just purchased a 1990 Carver Montego and the companion way lock is missing. Can someone tell me how this is supposed to work or how I can lock this boat?

I was able to find my original talk about lucky. Taking the information from the lock I was able to locate this lock which is the same as my original except mine is all chrome.
