Well Im new to the whole boating experience. I bought a used 1990 Bayliner Capri 1850 bow rider. It has a 3.0 Mercruiser with a Alpha 1 gen 1 I/O drive. Im trying to figure out how to determine the WOT RPM range along with the prop size. I get up to around 35-38 MPH going about 4700 RPM. Is this about right? I know its an older boat but feels slower than it should be. Any ideas on what I can do to get the speed up? Or even how to determine a prop replacement?

Re: 1990 Bayliner Capri prop

Get us the info requested in "read this first" at the top of the prop forum.Your prop size will be near the base of the blades or under the prop nut. 4700-4800 is ideal rpm.
Be very happy if we can get you to 40.Occasionally you will find a perfectly setup modern 3.0 that will make 41-43 mph but that is the exception.
