It is not oil injected, you must mix the oil.

Why? to keep the price of the motor down.

Is not a Chrysler.
May be a US Marine motor, but is likely a Mercury.
1990 is the year Mercury bought Force from US Marine.

Don't know what a "soft" motor is.

Sorry by "soft" I mean does it break easily or is common for breaking down.

Your motor was made by Force (formerly Chrysler)a section of US Marine. They were sold to Mercury and for a few years Merc put their touch on them:electronics and a few other touches. Then stopped making them.
They are a good motor if taken care of.A little more expensive to run.
I have had a pair of them for 20 years and they still run good. 1988-85hp
on a 21CC. Jerry

On your motor, the ignition system was problematic.
Mercury replaced it with their ignition in late 1991.

The 90 hp was a decent motor.

Most failures occurred from lack of maintenance, failure to replace the water pump impeller on a regular basis, and failure to mix the oil into the gas.

Oil injection in 2 stroke motors is overrated in my opinion, it just adds extra complexity and more possibility for something to go wrong. Premixing gas with 2 stroke oil takes less than a minute, I would never trust oil injector more than myself. The 1990 Force 90 is a good motor if you take care of it. This motor is relatively simple, which is a good thing if you are in to DIY maintenance.

Roscoe what was the problematic part of the ignition? Is this in the Blue prestolite ignitions?
