I'm looking at a 1990 50 horse outboard tiller at a local dealer. This motor was originally oil injected, however the dealer had it swithed from oil injection to oil mix. When I asked why he swithed it, he told me the injection never worked very well. My question is should I be worried?

Napco I have changed alot of motors from oil injection to oil mixed and very safe to do I might add.
The reason people change these over is that if there is any reason of the oil injected pump goes out or that the buzzer on (certain models) does not buzz, Then you could have more serious problems than you would ever expect. So disconnecting these things and mixing your fuel and oil is 100% safe.

Nick

Thanks for the reply, not being very handy with outboard motors I wasn't sure if this was a problem. Thanks for taking the time to give me a response :)
