1990 175 HP Jonhson Oil Reservoir bypass question

I have a 1990 Johnson 175 HP that was removed for a repower, during the repower the Oil tank was lost. I now have it on a stand getting ready to start it, can I just run pre-mixed gas through the VRO system and just cap off the oil intake tube? if so could I get an oil alarm?

I ran my 1990 175 for 10 years on 50/1 mix when the vro went South. I don't remember for sure but I think I just unplugged the sensor wires on the pump, I am sure someone on here with a better memory than me can fill in the details.

you were correct, just unplug the VRO system and plugged the oil line. Worked fine.
