Re: 1990 120 hp Force -- NO FIRE TO PLUGS -- HELP!!

Thanks for the welcome. I just got this boat from my father inlaw. The motor has been setting up for about 10 years now. i have drained the fuel tanke and put new fuel with sea foam to account for the ethanol. Thus far i have replaced the plugs, checked coils and powerpack [all good]. The ignition system checks out; flywheel turns; i am going out to check stator with OHM meter after this post. Kill switch has been checked [good]. I have no idea why i cannot get fire back to the plugs. Even though this motor has been sitting up for a decade the wires are still in excellent shape, and the flywheel turns over as if it were in the water yesterday. Please let me know if there is any other info you require to further assist me. Im no mechanic by no means but i have spent time working in mechanic shop, but this outboard thing is a whole different beast to tame. Thanks again for helpin me out!!!

Hey jesse... you have no fire on all 4 plugs correct>? you sure they were grounded good? if not you can actually blow the cdi boxes (blue boxes) if the plugs have no where to send the spark. If it was me i would just disconnect the 2 black with yellow stripe wires(kill wires) to make sure. just tape them up so they dont touch anything... then see what you have
