1989 Yami 200HP

Greetings. I am looking at a boat with twin 200 yamis. One has a blown powerhead but the other seems to be in good shape. Both motors where well cared for. My question is what is the reputation of these motors and what could I expect in terms of hours if I rebuild both motors? Thanks in advance.

If you rebuilt your external componenets are still 20 yrs old. As long as you understand parts will wear and need to be replaced that's fine. I would consider looking into newer engines and compare costs.

Thanks John. I kind of figured that would be the case. The model number is
LTF200ETFX. Problem is new motor for a boat that size runs around $20 000.
