Hey guys, considering purchasing a 1989 seadoo 580, i havnt seen it yet but he says its in excellent condition, the impellor and intake grate and all that jazz is in good shape, its been stored inside for 2 summers and has good compression but no spark.

He says it was driven until it was stored. Anyway, its a pretty good deal, and it comes with a trailor.

what do u think could be the problem?

are these seadoo's pretty reliable?? are they fast? what is top speed and acceleration? are they good for ripping around on?>

any opinions at all are very much appricated.

-Neil

good luck sounds like you don't have any jet ski experience, not being a smart butt, just stating the facts,if it's more than a couple hundred bucks it's too much, and no they don't go fast.bad ignition is usually a ground wire, sea doo isn't known for having a good ground set up. stored for 2 years??? better rebuild the carb replace all the fuel lines replace the fuel switch clean the gas tank and carry a tow rope. and go to pre mix if it still has an oil pump set up with that engine you need to remove the rotary valve cover to remove the iol pump correctly , I would suggest you get a service manual.
