I own an '89 model 1.6L sea drive and have since approximately 2003. I, as many others I have found, noticed that the steering assembly was corroding horribly. I am the first to admit I am a little lazy when it comes to detailed cleaning of the motor after each trip. When gas prices skyrocketed and grouper limits diminished, I stuck my Proline under the shelter and left it for about 4 years! I love the hull, can't find a much better hull in my opinion than these late 80's Prolines for the money. The steering is frozen up completely, it will not turn at all. What is the best way to break this loose? The engine was running great when I parked it but I know that I will be in for some repairs now that it has sat for so long. Is it worth replacing the steering arm assembly or should I try to repower?
