1989 NISSAN 8HP

I have a 89 nissan 8hp motor. She doesn't like to idle long and the previous owner said he had the same problem. After running the motor, I go to start it back up and I have to give her 1/2 choke before she will start. Also, at about 1/2 throttle she seems to be hesitating or maybe starving for fuel. Any suggestions on where to start and things to look for?

First place I would start is when she seems to be starving for fuel about half throttle, give the primer bulb a few squeezes and see if it smooths out. If it does, check to see if the tank is venting properly. Also, this could indicate a weak fuel pump diaphram.<br /><br />Nav
