On my Radio Shack Auto/Manual range digital multimeter I took some readings on the above mentioned parts.
Trigger - Trigger wires disconnected from switchbox. Meter set to Ohms . Multimeter leads between trigger leads reading of .737
Stator - Tester leads to between b/w wire and ground reading of 132.9
- Tester leads to between b/y wire and ground reading of 3.2
- Tester leads to between b/y and b/w wires reading of 3.064
Stator leads were disconnected from switchbox for the stator test.
Electronically challenged here. I am looking at the Mercury manual . I seethe OHM scale and the scale reading for the trigger and stator test.
Do I ignore the OHM scale as my multimeter is auto ranging?
The trigger test scale reading states 6.5 to 8.5 between trigger leads
The stator test scale reading states B/W lead and ground scale reading 12 - 18
B/Y lead and ground scale reading 3.201
Between B/W and B/Y scale reading 3.1 - 3.7
If I trust my understanding of these test only two of five reading are within the manuals parameters and both my trigger and stator are bad and in need of replacing.
This is an extension of a previous post for the same engine regarding what may or may not be a failed switchbox.
Any thoughts.

I've always hated auto ranging multi meters. They're hard to keep track of what scale your on.
You need to know what scale your on because that 6.5 -8.5 is actually 650-850 ohms. The 12-18 is 120-180 ohms. The 3.201 is 3,201 (the specs I've got show 3,200-3,800) and the 3.1-3.7 is 3,100-3,700.

Besides reading the OHMS scale on my multimeter I am having to figure out the OHM Scale and the OHM reading from my Seloc manual.
I think I have it figured out and all of my readings except for the between B/Y and B/W stator wires are acceptable. This may be due to the + or - 1.2% variance allowance on the meter.

It's interesting that your reading is out of specs by precisely 1.2%.

To double check I did all of the measurements on a running motor. It too was a bit low on the Between B/Y and B/W stator wires.
