I just bought the motor this spring. Compression is 125 PSI in both cylinders. Had it out maybe 10 times and no issues running from 5min to an hour at a time. This week we had lots of rain on the lake. When the rain stopped and I took the motor out it would only rev to half throttle and it sounded like it was bogging down. After a few minutes the revs would jump up for a split second then bog down again. So if I held it to full throttle for 1 second the boat would go full out, then bog again. As it warmed up it would be more frequent and about 10 mins in, it would run normal with no issues.
My thought is it must be a moisture related problem, most likely electrical. I am new to outboards but what should I start checking?

Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie, do you still happen to have that motor? I have the same and looking for someone that has one to look to see where a wire that fell off goes. It is a solid piece of wire called the idle wire and looks like it snaps in to the choke mechanisim but either something else is missing or I'm not seeing where the other end goes to.

If you do appreciate if you could let me know.

Thanks,
Ty
