1989 Mercury 150 water pump base shimming question

I am replacing the pump base while doing my impeller. the manual says to shim the base on models with a one piece drive shaft bearing. I don't know if my unit is equipped with this? It is a 1989 150 Black Max serial # 0C150410. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Steve

I don't know of any Merc V-6 that shims the water pump housing, sounds like a Seloc manual.
