1989 Maxum vs. 1986 Cobia

If these two boats are in close to the same condition, is there any reason to choose one over the other?<br /><br />the 1989 Maxum has a 125hp Force engine, open bow, 19 foot.<br /><br />the 1986 Cobia has a 305ci Mercruiser I/O engine, closed bow, 19 foot<br /><br />I am mostly concerned about the boat manufactur and/or the engines. Boat will be used for pleasure, skiing, etc.<br /><br />Any input/opinions would be great.<br /><br />Thanks

Cobia, Cobia, Cobia!! These two boats aren't even in the same league. The Mercruiser powered boat will be much more powerful, easier to maintain and the resale will be higher.<br /><br />Cobia has made some good boats.<br /><br />Maxum was, and is, Bayliners next step up. Not knocking Bayliner, but they are known as an entry level boat.<br /><br />Go to the NADA web page and compare prices.
