Have a Johnson 70 that came on our Bass Tracker and need to hook up the temp gauge. All the reading I have done suggests its the Tan/white wire on the harness but can't seem to get any signal from it. Just need to be sure that this is indeed the correct wire for temp sending.

Also trying to find out which wire supplies RPM signal

Engine is a TJ70TLCEM if that helps

Thanks!

The tachometer sensor lead is the GRAY wire that leads out of and is part of the wiring harness. This connects either to the same color GRAY wire leading from the tachometer or to its "S" terminal.

The temperture gauge wire...... Look at the wire that is connected to the gauge sending unit that is attached to the cylinder head. This is a separate unit, an accessory, and the wire is a separate wire that is run from that sending unit all the way to the gauge. This wire IS NOT part of the engine's wiring harness..... so before you accidently connect a wrong wire that might be an expensive mistake, make sure that the wire color at the sending unit is the same wire you have at the gauge.

Excellent, thanks for the quick reply. Will give it a look.
