What is a safe RPM range for cruising with the JOhnson 225. My WOT is OK at 5800 but I am always unsure what RPM is safe for an extended period of time (cruising). Are there any OEM guidelines on this? Does 4000-4500 seem OK.
Not too sure about it, but once read somewhere that 75% (4500 in your case) is safe, endlessly.<br /><br />Personally I cruise at the speed where the boat maintains a clear planning and in my case that is 2600 rpm.
