I just picked up a 1989 Centurion with what I think and was told was a Ford 351w??

Second, I notice a freeeze plug is missing and one is near completely pushed out...
Can I expect for sure severe engine damage such as crack? Will a compression test show a crack by having low compression?

Where is the hook up for a hose when not in the water to test/run the boat?

I plan to replace the freeze plugs with brass ones and keep my fingers crossed that the motor isn't toast. Oil looks clean and not milky, but a bit over the full mark on dipstick.

Any input please help, I am definately a newew boat owner have only had one other boat and it was a basic outboard.

Perfect! I still have a lot of further investigating to do so I can determine if I did or didn't just blow my money.

Ayuh,... I wouldn't say for Sure, but definitely Probably...

No a compression test is irrelevant,...
You need to drain, 'n pressurize the Cooling system...

I replaced the freeze plugs and hooked up a hose to the cooling system and no leaks other than slightly from the water/exhaust manifolds. Now on too fixing the strut bearing!
