Welcome to iboats fpsacc.

I bet the boat looks like new.
A real gem.
And a really great price too.
There is a reason.

You can't get parts for the drive unit.
You can't convert to another drive unit.
Parts for the engine are getting scarce.
The ignition system is real prone to failure and is real expensive, IF you can find the parts.
You can't convert to another engine.
You can't convert to an outboard without totally rebuilding the boat.
No dealer/mechanic will work on the drive unit, and most will not touch the engine.

Walk away from it.

Hmmm its just a boat not a airplane..Im new to my L-drive and Ive found extra parts everywhere..in the 2 weeks Ive had the boat..

It seems no-one likes the l-drive except the owners of them lol..Its a great idea they had I went out on my buddies Campion and my wife and I got carbon-monoxide poisoning from all the exhaust fumes when it was running...well see how this L-drive does with that...
and no mechanic will touch it...well maybe in the U.S but here in good old Canada our mechanics work on them like any other boat..Mine was completly redone engine to leg in Kelowna B.C they still work on them..and ya my boat is sweet ...Ill let ya know how it runs...or doesn't lol

Just like the Chrysler Magna-Power II, ignition system, the L drives have a deservedly poor reputation. Some run well with no problems ever but a significant amount of others crap out. If it is going to be your only boat, why take the chance? Don't invest your money in that particular boat. There are plenty of starfish in the sea and no boat MUST be bought. Take your time and find another hull. You may just do better.

Ya I agree with Frank I traded mine for a car so my fault for not knowing about the L-drive, if I had the chance Id opt out of it..but I have it now Ill see how it does..
