1989 35hp force oil leak

Hi yall, newbie to the site looking for a little help? I have oil coming out of offset hole located next to one of the 4 mounting bolts for the lower unit? any advise? What is that hole for???

Hole about 1/16 inch in diameter?
Black, gassy smelling oil?

That would be unburnt fuel residue leaking out of the midsection of the motor.
The hole is to drain out any water and or oil residue.

I think you hit the nail on the head bud! thanks. Taking the boat out walleye fishing today see how it does.
