Hey there, just a short backstory. I picked up this steiger as a project boat at the beginning of the summer. The boat (from what I've been told by the previous owner) was part of the NYPD's marine fleet before finding its way to being stripped, sanded and gutted sitting on Long Island. If you look closely you can see the old "NYC" decal outline on the side of the pilot house.
I asked for a project, so I got a project.
Just finished glassing in the coosa transom with two 3/4" pieces bonded together and 10 layers of 1708 woven fiberglass with a few chop strand pieces thrown in the mix for a leisurely sanding process. The back transom was open so that's how I kept it. Next up on my list is going to be the stringers once I grind everything back to where I want it with the transom.
Reaching out for thoughts, opinions or ideas.
