Hi
I have a 1989 125hp Force motor that has overheated. After running it for about 15 minutes today the warning buzzer sounded. There was still water coming out for a short time, but then only smoke. I would like to know where online I could get a diagram of the cooling system to replace the waterpump myself.
Thank you

Replacing the pump is easy if you are mechanical inclined. For my 70 HP I had to disconnect the shift linkage ( above the lower unit )then remove the bolts that hold the lower unit on not forgetting the one under the trim tab. Then pull the lower unit off there was 2 pieces that came out with it. One hard washer and one soft rubber piece. you must then take the pump housing apart, taking note of which way the fins are facing so you can replace it the same way. Then reassemble the opposite way. The best way is to have a manual

Go get a manual....if you don't, you will spend MUCH, MUCH more after screwing up the lower unit. You don't sound very mechanical, and those small pieces that make it shift will get lost, and when you slam it back together, ...lets just say go get a manual NOW
