1989 100XP- Tilt/trim motor louder than normal along with noticeable relay click

Folks,

Took the boat out yesterday and my tilt/trim motor is much louder than normal. I am also noticing a louder click with the relay under the cowling as well. I have worked on most everything else on this engine, but this. Would this noise indicate low fluid or a relay going bad?

Have you greased the tilt tube lately; maybe the motor is having to work harder to raise the engine.
don't know about a loud relay click.

Have you checked the fluid level in it ??
