1988 Yamaha 150 --- bad gas or worse?

A friend of mine got a 1988 yamaha precision blend 2 stroke from his grampa. We added 4 gallons of gas to 2 gallons of existing (bad gas? ... 2+ yr old) so the tank was about half and started it up.

In idle there's a lot of whiteish smoke and a decent amount of oil comming out of the prop. Gramps told my buddy it was running rich and needed the carb adjusted. It's my thought that there is still some bad gas in the tank and we should fill it before getting dirty with the carb...

Dump the gas and oil and clean the tanks. start with fresh fuel and oil to see how it runs

2 gallons bad gas + 4 gallons good gas =6 gallons of nasty gas.
simple math.
check compression,check spark.
if good replace fuel pumps,lines and clean the carbs.
