1988 Volvo 120hp Questions

I am about to receive a 1988 Baretta 200cc 20', with a 88' Volvo 120hp motor. I got this information off of the Titles, and was wondering if anyone could give me a little more information on everything about this boat. I need to find a start, and the key is lost, so a whole new ignition I think? Also, it has been setting for a few years, so I will probably need plugs and wires.. So if anyone could give me a little information to help me find the exact proper parts I need, that would be great.

I need a motor name or spec so I can make sure I am looking at the right parts for this boat. Please

I got this information off of the Titles,

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...... What you need is the #s,+ letters off the Motor,+ Drive....

It could be a Chevy, or a Volvo motor I believe....

I am pretty posotive it is 275es, does that sound correct?

It could very well be a 275 outdrive with an aq131 engine but I wouldn't start buying parts without confirming what you have.

I wouldn't quite call it a Baretta yet. It has been setting awhile, so it might just be a GIGANTIC paper weight. lol. The mother of my childrens, mother, got it in the divorce, so she is GIVING it to us.. So I got a good price on it lol.

Like I said previously though, the title only had the HP and Serial Number.

Another real quick question.. I am not the greatest when it comes to machanics, but if the key for the boat is lost, What exactly do I need to replace?

You'll just need to replace the ignition switch. The part the key fits into. Should be pretty easy.

Something like this, however you'll need to determine how many terminals the existing switch has and the dimensions are to figure out which style/type you need.
