Can anybody tell me the bad things or good things with a 88 sunchaser deck boat has 5 liter mercruiser. thanks

I just bought a 1985 SunChaser deck boat with a 4 cyl (140) I/O. Someone has done some "cosmetic" work on it, but it appears to run pretty good too. I found your post as I was searching for info; it appears we have a collector's item. If that is the case, I may be inclined to restore it this winter.

Do you have photo's of yours posted anywhere?

Any boat over 10yrs old is primarily valued based on condition, not typically by the manufacturer. If your drive and engine are in good shape along with the interior, you have a valuable boat. If they're in poor shape, your value is significantly diminished.

Restore it because you like it, not because someone said it was a collector's item (I have yet to see anyone collecting boats from the late 80's).

Can't say much about that one but my 95 is in great shape and looks brand new.
