Do you own one currently?

No I do not own one currently ( if your talking about the boat you are looking for a manual for ) I have yet to see a actual owner's manual for a boat in that class. If you asking if I currently own a manual for one of my boats ,read on. I own a 32 Luhrs Open that did not come with a manual. It did comes with manuals for each add on, TV,Fridge Microwave, generator,,radios ,motors and so on. No wiring schematics or things like that. I also have a Boston Whaler 27 FC that came with a decent manual ,some schematics and wire routing. I also have a Rampage 28 that has a extensive manual with everything from bonding wire locations to color coded helm wires and where each one goes . Your request for a manual is probably one topic/ request that is made almost weekly ,and the answer is always the same.. So unless your dropping a couple hundred grand the odds are better for you winning the lotto than the boat coming with a real manual.

Boats don't generally come with manuals . . . any documentation is usually about boating safety and navigation. The engines are the most well-documented aspects of boats.

I have seen one boat company (Chaparral, If I recall) that now has fairly comprehensive manuals.

out of the hundreds of thousands of boat companies over the past century, only about 4 of them have manuals

Boston Whaler
Chaparral
some years of Four Winns
Some years of Sea Ray

Rinker is not one of them.

what would have most likely come in your 1988 rinker for documentation would have been the following:
  • engine operators manual
  • trailer parts manual
  • stereo manual
  • generic 4-page safety brochure with a generic picture of a boat, some important safety information like the pointy end is the bow and slow down when docking along with a list of servicing dealers.
so specifically, what are you looking for on your 33 year old rinker?

Just go to the Mercruiser forum located on here and ask away. If your asking how to operate the controls and what not , you can ask on this forum. I would suggest a USSCG safety/boating course if this is your first boat .
