1988 Nissan 25 2-Stroke Carb Switch

I recently became the owner of 1988 Nissan 25 2-Stroke short shaft. I was told by the original owner that it was possible to swap the 25 Carb with a 40 carb. I need some help as I am looking to get this motor as fast as I can without doing any major mods. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF 40 CARBS WILL FIT ON THE 25? I can't seem to get a clear answer from anyone on this topic. I haven't been able to find anything online myself either. Thanks in advance.

The 25 will NOT take a 40 carb. There may be a restrictor plate (if not already removed) that if removed will allow you to tune it to 30 hp.

It's a restrictor carb plate removal and correct carb/timing advance synch to have a 30 HP, could maximize a prop to be at near max wot rpm boating on a lightly loaded boat. Which prop pitch stamped number on prop body is the current one, assume factory delivered ?

I'm not sure what pitch the prop is. I'll have to find out when I get back from out of town.

I do know it's a Solas prop
