1988 murcury 75 hp no spark!

Okay I took the boat out ran fine all day got to the dock it quit running like to never got it started and when it start it wasn't running right now it won't run at all its not getting spark on any plugs and if u keep cranking it will get spark and run then die and lose spark what could it be?

There are so many thing it could be. But first try and clean all the electrical connection first. Remove each connection, clean it to shiny metal and reconnect it and move to the next one. After doing that, see what happens and report back here so if you still have issues we can help out... JMHO!

I've checked connections and everything is good. Is it the power pack?

Could be the power pack........or the stator......or the trigger......or it could be that the wiring from all these components has rotted away which is very common with Mercury/Mariner motors of this generation. Look for bare wires where the insulation is coming off in chunks. Could also be your key switch is grounding out.

I just put a new key switch in. I took it out once then the next time it done this.

I tested everything on the power pack I'm getting power to it all even when I'm not getting any spark so what could it be!

Are you not getting spark on any of the 3 coils? Make sure you check the wires leading from the trigger and stator. . Also, a dead battery or even a low battery will keep a motor from firing. a slow turning motor will not fire.

Do you happen to know what the voltage of the battery should be when cranking. I have a battery that drops to 10.5V but shows 12.5V without any load. I'm curious if my battery is so low it's causing no spark?
