I am needing some help from the experts...I have the following outboard above and was running last Saturday evening while duck hunting, The next morning the engine would not pull start to save my sole. The only way to get the engine to fire off for 3-5 sec's would be remove the spark plugs and put some of the mixed gas in the cylinder and the replace the plugs...but will only run for a few sec's then quits. I have new plugs, new gas tank bulb, new carb kit, am ordering a new fuel pump. Don't have any darn idea what is up. I have 100lbs compression on each cylinder. Any ideas guys/gals?

Check, and see if the choke is going to the full closed position.

I don't think it has one...it just has a primer on the front of the engine...you pull it in and out a couple of times and it primes the carb for starting...

I did check the spark...I removed both plugs and held them close to the engine block and very good spark...when I pull start the engine several times and remove the plugs...they are dry so that tells me it is some sort of a fuel problem...especially when it will run with fuel deposited in the cylinders....??

looked at BRP site, and it does have a primer, i think you have a float problem in the carb. did you soak the metal parts of the carb, and blow out all the orifices, when you did the kit? is the arrow on the primer bulb pointing toward the engine, common mistake.

Have you checked the primer, disconnect the output hose to the carb, and see if it is pumping fuel.

I did not soak the metal parts in any kind of cleaner solution or blew out any orfices...the arrow is pointing toward the engine.... yes...and verified fuel is pumping when the bulb is pumped. This is kindof a bugger.....I'm wondering what draws the fuel out of the cab and into the cylinder for combustion>...just compression vacuum? I even took the fuel pump off of the engine and connected it directly to the tank via the bulb hose and it would not run...I'm thinking it has something to do with the carb to the cylinder that is the problem....your thoughts?

I have and it is pumping real well...the primer bulb is new and installed toward the direction of fuel flow...> engine...

The carb kit is new, including the needle/seat....I adjusted the float according to the dealer's reccomendaton....
