Hey Fella's,
Thanks for having me. I recently purchased a boat that has been floated around a few websites it appears, The stickers on the side said Team Inez. I'd attach pics but currently appears that I am not authorized to do so?
Before I continue with this story, I need to explain a little more of my back story. I traded a 1996 Thompson Calae for a 1980 Ski Supreme with cash. The Ski supreme ran great for 3 seasons, I cleaned it up and completely restored the trailer. I started to notice how soft the floor was getting and coincidently that's when I found out how important stringers were, mine were gone to say the least. About 5 years ago, with the assistance of iqxoqlms post on the restoration of his Ski Supreme, I embarked on my own restoration. I ended up removing one stringer, most of the bulkhead, and the foam in the nose and the project has pretty much stopped there (2 kids, Moving, work, school, etc. all got in the way).
I considered parting it out but nothing serious.
So fast forward to a few weeks ago, I came across the Team Inez boat. I figure I'd go check it out and see if it was rotted out and not worth much or for some reason, it might be a candidate for restoration. Much too my surprise, it was the later, this boat was constructed very well. First off, with the exception of the seats and upholstery, there is no wood used in the construction of this boat. The deck is a corrugated fiberglass, feels like concrete walking on it. It also has the same PCM 351 and Borg warner drive that my ski supreme has (my engine ran great and I've been fogging cylinders and doing everything I should while it's been laid up for 5+ years) so I will be swapping them out.
So, I purchased the boat for more than I probably should have but was excited about all the fiberglass work I wasn't going to have to do.
Here's where things get interesting and I was hoping that someone might have some answers.
The previous owner thought the boat was made in Lake Orion, MI and is a 4 of 8 made. I have tracked the manufacturer down to Inez Power Boats of Trenton, Georgia. The CEO was a William Brakebill and the company was only around from 1986 to 1989 or so. Has anyone heard of this guy, he may have moved back to Tennessee after leaving the Georgia company.
Based on the Hull ID, is it possible this is a boat 0? The number is IPB00000C488. I did receive a title and registration for it. Was is some kind of show boat or demo?
I have searched extensively and called phone numbers and can find no further information or any picture of a similar boat. I was hoping to find something of the windshield so I could re-create something similar but mike just modify the Ski Supreme windshield to fit. This boat is constructed very well and there is very few minor cracks in the gel coat but nothing major.
Thanks in advance for any help and look forward to posting pics of the progress. I'm not sure I've ever seen a powder blue inboard before so look forward to getting it on the water this summer!
Thanks,
Davo
