this engine ran fine one day and when i put it back in the water the day after it would not start.I have no spark on any cylinder. I checked the kill switch and that seems to be working fine. I'm using the seloc repair manual to try and repair this problem but im only getting confused. This is what i did so far.
I checked resistance of the stator while still on the engine yellow-blue wires got 740k ohms on both sets.the book says 700-900 ohms so that is way off.but dont know if i did it right. the trigger wires all had 48-50 ohms wich is ok. can not check output because i dont have a dva adapter. also disconnected the recifier and stil did not start. Im trying to pull the flywheel off right now to inspect the stator and the trigger for anything visable, but i cant get that off. have a puller on it with tension for about 24 hours now and even shocking the shaft with a hammer. Any help would be great. NO one around here wants to work on force, and i don't know why.

Your stator is probably okay. When they fail, they either short out or develop an internal break. Even though you're reading 740k as opposed to 740, I suppose it could just be a matter of which range on the meter selector knob Seloc is referring to.

I like the idea of looking for anything obvious under the flywheel. I just finished working on a similar model where I occasionally smelled burning plastic when the boat started running badly. It turns out the stator was shorting intermittently and it was leaving carbon near one winding. That told me withuot a doubt that it needed to be replaced. Try heating the flywheel with a hair dryer. If you use a torch, be careful. You could de-bond the magnets.

I'm sure WBW's answer is correct, but I would check out that kill switch circuit further and see what happens. Just a thought..
