Hey fellas
I’m wondering if I could replace my current 1988 force 125hp carburetors with the ones which I kept from my 120hp. They look like they would be a perfect swap just not sure if that’s a good idea. Reason for asking is that the ones from the 120 are in better shape than the ones on my 125hp now.

Try them??
Hook them up and go for a ride.
Run wide open for 5-6 min.
Then turn the key off.
Don't throttle down, just turn off the motor.

Then pull the plugs and check the burn.
This will tell if the jets are too lean.

Thanks J
So it’s possible. It’ll be a future project for sure. I may have a “too rich “ issue on the 88’ 125hp carbs but I need to rebuild them. Doing the swap will minimize my down time, since the 90’ 120hp carbs were rebuilt prior to my motor head swap. Also is it ok to run synthetic oil through these motors? I read somewhere that it’s fine
thanks

Yup the synthetic oils are OK!
They actually smoke less but cost more(I'm cheap)
