1988 evirude 60 hp

i have a 1988 60 hp evinrude and it will not stay primed up but it will start and run under the water hose but if you put under pressure it will die out does anyone know what could be wrong with it thanks<br /><br />------------------

When was the last time you ran it and it was ok? What do you mean by "primed up" and "under presure"?
