I am new to boating. I have a 1988 Statos f/s with a 90hp evinrude. This is my first year with it and have not had any problems.

My question is what type of preventative maintenance should I perform on an engine that is that old? I don't have a clue what has been done in the past so I am assuming nothing. Some things I was thinking of doing this fall is have the impeller replaced, fuel lines replaced/filter replaced, possibly having carbs rebuilt. Is there anything else I should consider, or any of these things that you think would be unnecessary?

Thanks in advance for your advice

What TD said + Grease the zerc fittings, change the gear oil, lube the steering rod. If she runs good, there is no need to rebuild the carbs. Check the spark plugs for wear, and replace if necessary.
