1988 85hp running on 2 cylinders

Hi All, #2 cyl appears wet and not sure if it's firing. Whats the easiest way to check spark. I'm a rookie on ignition and do have a Clymers Manual. If #2 is firing then am I somehow getting water in that cyl? Comp 120lbs on all cyls and crank timing dead on. Replies welcome. O.T.
