If it came on in a short period, Check plugs first. Check coils for output. Check throttle stop. Check prop for bends. Check for overheating. Check for bilge water (weight). Check motor angle to see if resting on stop pin. Check throttle linkage to insure timing is advancing and choke is full open. Let us know, we may have to go deeper.

Hi Edward,
I doubt that you have a compression problem if the motor was running fine the last time you ran it. Can you give any other symptoms about your problem? Is the motor missing or bogging down. What is the rpm getting up to at WOT? The problem is probably related to either the ignition system of the fuel system. Tell us more about the problem if you can.

Disconnect and ground one plug wire at a time. Run engine. See if any of them have no affect on motor operation when grounded.

*Common to lose one cylinder from a bad pack.....
