1988 45hp #ob356219 tends to stall when going from a slow troll to to fast speed new fuel pump fuel filter and ball

Have you tried pumping the bulb when it starts to stall?

i have tried pumping the bulb that does not work.i was thinking it could be a altiude problem the closest lake is about 7000 ft in elv. what jet do they put in at the factory?it looks like between 5000ft and 7000ft the main should be .051 and the vent .092 [seloc] i just don't know what size is installed now.it runs fine at full speed its just when you go to take off it dies.

Most carbs run the slow speed jet at 1 1/4 turns out. Before you do any dismantling and hunting for precision drill bits so that you can measure your jets, you might try opening your low speed knob 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time. If you open it and nothing changes, then I'd put it back where it was.

But I bet if and when you change your jets, you will also need more fuel ala opening the low speed to 1 1/2 or so.
