1988 45hp classic fifty no start

The engine has ran all spring then all of a sudden it quit and cranks but has no fire to any cylinders. How do you check the Stator and trigger and switch box? Which one to check first? we had a new stator put on a few years ago and it was an "upgrade that has a little solid state looking box inline with the other leads, 2 going to the rectifier and the blue and blue white going to the switch box.

Get a manual. You'll use it for lots of things besides this problem.....probably time to work over your water pump, or overhaul your carbs............
