I believe my motor is the TL model. But it seems to me that my stator has crapped out on me. And the visual inspection on it doesn't pass. I am trying to figure out the correct amps I need for the 1988 150hp evinrude outboard. The attached picture is the connection to the stator. On the packs black to the stator the 2 black packs side by side say 5AU and the alone one says 6AU. I'm not sure if this stator is the proper one for this engine or not. So someone please help me out. It has two grounds and one connector which is the male side.

Used to be that the potted stator was the 10 amp one, and the one like yours was the 35 amp version. Not sure that is still true, however. Don't think you've provided enough model information. Usually the 150S models (GT/XP) engines used the 35 amp stator. All basic 150 models (the 150 without the "S") usually took the 9/10 amp. You can visually tell by looking at the flywheel. All 35 amp flywheels (required the 35 amp stator) had the vents cast into it for optimal cooling. If your flywheel does not have the vents, it is probably a 9/10 amp type. Part numbers can be found at the factory website: epc.brp.com. The 10 amp stator is 583537, which is not stocked, but will drop ship to you direct from Bombardier's vendor. The 35 amp stator is 583050, which supercedes to: 583668 and is in stock.
