1988 15 hp carb

I have a mariner 9.9 and I think it is a 1988 model. If I am not mistaken the only difference in the 9.9 and the 15 that year is the carb. Does anyone know if I am correct,and if so does anyone know where I can get a 15 hp carb at a reasonable price?

Welcome to iboats and I'm afraid you're mistaken.<br /><br />That was true of small motors of an earlier generation. But the 9.9s and 15s had more differences between them, there is more tuning of other areas of the motor. Suprisingly I didn't see a 15 offered for that year on my parts list.

quick check of parts list:<br /><br />Crankcase,adaptor plate,and carbs are different.<br />The parts list does not say what the changes are.It just shows different part numbers.<br /><br />DHP<br /><br />WillieBWright,if you are using the Merc EPC,for some reason after the 9.9,they list several trolling motors before listing the 15.
