I just bought a boat with an '88 johnson 140 model J140TXCCM. Motor runs great but the steering arm running from the midsection was badly corroded and has broken free of the engine. My wife is mad enough at me as it is!
I am having a hard time locating an aftermarket or used steering arm. The OEM replacement seems to be very expensive. I have looked around on the board and it looks to be a labor intensive undertaking, which I am going to deal with. Any idea where I can get this steering arm? I have looked on ebay but there also has to be some used parts places out there? They built a zillion of these motors. Any help would be appreciated.
