I tried starting my engine for the first time this season. However, the starter gear was turning, but it was not going upwards to engage the flywheel. Bad starter? Is the solenoid built into the starter?
I had the same problem. Checked out the battery did not put out enough AMPS to raise the bendix.<br />The battery was charged first and took the charge ok. Tested the battery and found a bad cell.<br /> Dead Eye
