1987 SS201 Info

We recently inherited our in-laws boat, '87 SS201, after they got something newer. I've gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the lack of info I could find about it. I was hoping I could find a copy of the original brochure or something online, but no luck.

Welcome. Got some pics of the big SS?

I am working on a 22' 1976 SS and there's alot of love for the big V5 hulls on here. Interested to see what the diffences are on the 1987 later model.

When we found out we were getting it, I started looking for what engine options it came with cause I was already wondering if a V8 would fit. After we got it out on the water the first time, I wasn’t too worried about it any more. It’s got the 175hp 4.3 in it which was just fine. When the day comes that it finally needs any engine work, I’ll just try the 4bbl carb and maybe some vortec heads.

Your 4.3 will last many more years. I have the 4.3 205 LX with the 4bbl and have thought about adding an new intake and when or if needed aluminum exhaust manifolds to loose some stern weight.
