1. Engine overheats with hose to intake or in body of water. Both manifolds increase in temperature at an equal rate.

2. I had the water pump changed, which didn't need changing, impeller looked new.

3. I bypassed the intake hose and ran the garden hose right to the manifolds. Engine ran normally and manifolds cool to touch.

3.1. I opened the pitcocks and water flowed freely and evenly through all four locations.

4. I tried to backflush the intake hose that runs from the water pump hoping to dislodge any possible obstructions.

5. I attached ears to sterndrive intake and attempted sucking water through intake hose with a Shop Vac (before manifold diverter) hoping to draw out any obstructing objects (engine off, and engine running for about 10 seconds). Got very little water, seems most water was existing exhaust outlet.

6. Reconnected everything and tried ears at sterndrive, NO water reaching manifolds!! Augh!!

It seems that the new pump just ain't pumping, or that there is some obstruction after the pump and before the point at which water is sent to the manifolds.

Any ideas?
