I have a 1987 Sea Ray with a 1987 Mercruiser V8 260 motor that was winterized some time back. I see several drain cocks on the bottom of the engine that I know to make sure are closed before starting the engine. But I also have two brass plugs the mechanic gave me. I can't figure out where they go on the engine, and I can't find anything online to show me.

I was going to order a service manual from Mercruiser hoping it might help, but the web site could not find my engine serial number.

My paperwork from when I originally bought the boat in 1987 also says the engine is a model 2260 Y if that helps.

Can anyone help me with were these plugs go?

What's the best service manual to get for this engine?

THANK YOU!!!

the 4 drain locations are the two at the bottom of the block, and one on each exhaust manifold.

I have only found three. See photos, below. There are two petcocks (one on each manifold) and one on the block on the side with the oil filter. Where do I find the other one?

One 1/4" NPT pipe plug on each side of the block, mid section, just above oil pan rail.
