1987 MerCruiser HELP

I have an 1987 SeaRay with a 3.0 L Mercrusier motor I/O. My dad recently changed the belts on it and lost the large mounting nut that held it up and to the boat. Was wondering what size nut it took along with what the order of nuts and washers were/was?

PLEASE HELP

Welcome... Sorry but your going to have to take a picture of what your talking about. A nut missing to tighten the belt or hold the engine?

This doesn't sound good at all.

Yes Don it looks exactly like the one on the right

Please tell me the outdrive was removed and that you are planning on aligning the engine when you get it all back together.

Don,

I only received one photo it has what looks like 2 diagrams in it with a bolt running thru some nuts and washers in the right diagram. Thats the one it looks like. And yes to the realigning

In the future, here is how you change the belt.

I've heard some replace the belt and install another one tucked out of the way so when the one goes there is the next new one and no need to go through the process again.
