Re: 1987 Mercruiser 170hp
The 170 doesn't equate to any automotive engine. It's a Mercruiser designed 4 cylinder, aluminum block engine, with a Ford 460 head and a Mercruiser intake and exhaust system, commonly called a 470 Merc.
NAPA normally carries the Sierra brand parts that will work on that engine. You do need to be sure which distributor you have. The original Delco's were replaced with Prestolites if the distributors were replaced.
